Delete your account and your data
The current version of the Field Companion has no account. Everything you write stays on your device, and you delete it there. This page is for people who created an optional username in an earlier version (1.4 to 1.7).
Delete your entries from your device
- Open the app and tap ME.
- Tap DELETE ALL MY ENTRIES FROM THIS DEVICE and confirm.
This permanently removes every entry, photo, and prompt answer stored by the app. Deleting the app itself removes everything as well. We hold no copy and cannot restore it.
Delete an account created in an earlier version
Earlier versions offered an optional username, email address and passphrase for saving entries across devices. Those entries were encrypted on your device before upload, so we could never read them. To delete the account and everything stored under it:
- Email contact@blackswansundercover.com from the email address you used when you created the username.
- Use the subject line Delete my Field Companion account. Nothing else is needed — no name, no reason.
We delete the account record and all stored data within 30 days and confirm by reply to the same address. We keep no copy afterwards. The request must come from the sign-up address because that is the only way we can tell the account is yours; we have no other information about you.
Subscriptions
Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription, because subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play, not by us. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone; Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions on Android).
